We can choose four more years of lies or take a leap of faith

To The Daily Sun,

There have been many things told to us by this administration that make one wonder if we are being told the truth; so many things over these eight years.

Here is conclusive evidence if you have thought that just perhaps this can't be true. When recently questioned about the plane full of money to Iran at the time the four hostages were released, President Obama scoffed at reporters and you can review clips of that news conference. To paraphrase: "America doesn't pay ransom, this was money owed Iran, it was time to give it back, the timing was coincidental, we had to send cash, because of the sanctions we cannot send a check or make a wire transfer ..."

This week it is being accurately reported that two days later the administration began wiring 13 payments of just under $1 million to Iran which they said was interest on the money we held. Two days after the hostages were released the sanctions had not been lifted to my knowledge. How is it that we can't wire money to Iran, and two days later we can? Must be the same as when "it's not within my power to make specials laws for illegal immigrants in this country," but a year later amazingly he can.

When you lie to the American people you do not respect them. People can choose to be blind to this behavior from our government officials, say it's expected. It doesn't really bother them because of all the "good" things they do.

I personally think Americans had better start paying better attention to what those who have been elected to represent and lead us are doing. Regardless of all the teeth-gnashing and hand-wringing going on, in November there will only be two choices for the highest office in our land. We can continue with at least another four years of lying and disrespect from a new administration full of polished politicians looking out for themselves, or take a leap of faith for America first and just try something different.
