Smolin has the expertise needed to guide human services

  • Published in Letters

To The Daily Sun,

I support Jonathan Smolin, candidate for Belknap Commission, District 3. This district is comprised of the towns of Alton, Gilford, Meredith and Center Harbor.

Jonathan's background as a surgical assistant will help the county as it navigates the
expanded reach of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. He understands Medicare and Medicaid and the coding issues facing our nursing home.

I am impressed with Jonathan's drive and energy as he has founded, grown and sold a number of small businesses. As a Gilford business owner, I think it is important to understand the challenges which the private sector faces each and every day.

Mr. Smolin and I have spoken about the need to grow human services in a responsible and sustainable way. Belknap County needs to meet its obligations to the elderly, the infirm and to those incarcerated, but this must be done responsibly.
