Eversource making significant investment in downtown Laconia

  • Published in Letters

To The Daily Sun,

Thank you for updating your readers on Jan. 6 on the exciting work under way in downtown Laconia to enhance reliability for Eversource customers.

While the replacement of underground utilities in the downtown will result in some scheduled disruptions to service, it's important to clarify that they will be infrequent and of short duration. The brief outages are necessary to improve service to customers and modernize the electric system. Eversource is working closely with the city, and plans to go door-to-door to notify customers when an outage is scheduled. The company will also work with businesses to avoid scheduling an outage at a time that would cause a significant impact.

The upgrades to the underground utilities represent a significant investment in Laconia. Not only will this project greatly enhance reliability for customers now and for years to come, the new infrastructure will ensure Eversource is able to continue providing reliable service as the community enjoys economic growth.
