18 caught in booze sting

A nineteen year-old was able to purchase beer or liquor at 18 of 47 licensed premises in Laconia during a sting operation conducted by the Police Department and the Bureau of Enforcement of the New Hampshire Liquor Commission between October 30 and November 1. The minor was served at eight of the 18 lounges and ten of the 29 stores in the city, or nearly 40 percent of all licensees. Saturday shooter arraigned

James McNeil, 22, of Belmont was arraigned in Laconia District Court yesterday on a charge of first degree assault, a Class A felony, for allegedly shooting Corey Donovan of Laconia Saturday night. Ordered held on $25,000 cash bail, McNeil is scheduled to appear in Laconia District Court for a probable cause hearing on November 17. In an affidavit in support of cash bail, Sergeant William Clary said McNeil "has a history of violence and has shown a lack of respect for human life." ...
