FRANKLIN — The community has come together in planning a three-hour concert to benefit Franklin’s 2006 Citizen of the Year, Denise Sharlow, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
An active member of the Franklin community for more than 20 years, Sharlow has served as development director for the Franklin Business and Industrial Development Corporation and is a former executive director of the Belknap Mill in Laconia.
The benefit concert will take place on Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Franklin Opera House, featuring local bands and musicians, including Canyon Run, Avard and Company, and Nine Unknown. Fred Caruso of Mix 94.1FM will serve as master of ceremonies for the event, which is sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank and Beck & Bellucci. All proceeds will go directly to Sharlow’s medical battle.
Tickets are available online at www.franklinoperahouse.org as well as Franklin Savings Bank locations in Franklin, Tilton, Boscawen, Gilford, and Bristol; the School Administrative Unit 18 office; Grevior Furniture in Franklin, and the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce in Laconia.
