The owners of the restaurant have traveled across the nation to states such as Oregon and Kentucky to produce signature hand-crafted beverages, which are available upon request.

CENTER HARBOR — Whether on a boat, watercraft, kayak or even a canoe, those looking for a dinner with a water view can stop in or make a reservation to dine at The Canoe Restaurant and Tavern.

The Canoe is located on Lake Winnipesaukee and can be accessed via boat by parking at the Center Harbor town docks and taking the provided shuttle to the restaurant.

“It’s been very busy this summer and lots of our guests are using the shuttle system to get to the restaurant from the boat docks,” said Sandy Ouellette, manager. It is suggested that people call ahead for shuttle services from the docks to the restuarant.

The restaurant is known for its fine dining options and relaxed atmosphere, which has drawn customers to the restaurant for many decades.  While sitting in the rustic dining enviroment people can chose one of the many seafood, vegetarian or meat based options that cooks prepare to order each day.

Of the many items the menu offers, two of the best selling items include the lobster macaroni and cheese and calamari. This summer season the restaurant is also offering a variety of new steaks and has brought back the popular “USDA Prime” New York Strip as part of the daily dinner menu.

The owners of the restaurant appreciate fine wine and beverages, which has led them to create their own hand-crafted drinks that are available on the menu. After venturing to Oregon, they have produced a Pinot Noir that is now served at the Center Harbor location. Additionally, Mount Gray Black Whiskey and Nap Creek Rum have been handcrafted by the owners for the customers to enjoy.

“We have many signature drinks this year as well that have been made with the handcrafted whiskey and rum, which has been extremely popular among customers,” said Ouellette.
