The Laconia High School girls' soccer team (3-4-1) earned their third win on the season 3-2 against Prospect Mountain on Tuesday. The Sachems will try to break past the .500 mark with a match at Fall Mountain tomorrow and at undefeated Raymond next Friday.
In other girls' soccer action, the Lakers (5-1-1) played to a 1-1 tie against Kearsarge on Tuesday. Inter-Lakes is at Moultonborough today and will host Somersworth on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles (1-4-3) are currently on a seven game winless streak, tying Laconia 2-2 last Saturday and losing to Newport 1-0 on Wednesday. Gilford will try to break the streak tomorrow against Belmont and Wednesday at Berlin.
Prospect Mountain (1-7) earned their first win on the year against Belmont 3-2 last Friday. The Timberwolves fell to Laconia on Wednesday 3-2. The girls are in Kingswood today and host Bishop Brady on Tuesday.
Belmont (5-3) is on a three game skid heading into today's match-up at Gilford. The Red Raiders visit Hillsboro-Deering on Wednesday.
Prospect Mountain (8-0) have yet to lose a game this season and have not given up a goal in the last six games. They have out-scored their opponent 42-3 on the year. Prospect Mountain continues the season tonight against Berlin and Tuesday at Campbell.
Belmont is 7-1 only losing to the undefeated Timberwolves to open the season. The seven game win streak is on the line tomorrow at Gilford and Tuesday, when Inter-Lakes visit. The Red Raiders beat Newfound 3-1 on Wednesday.
Laconia (2-6) have lost five games in a row. Somersworth beat the 6-2 Sachems Wednesday to extend the losing streak. Laconia host Kingswood tonight and head to Gilford on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles, 5-2. have won three in a row. The last two wins came over Laconia 5-0 and Mascoma Valley 7-0. Gilford's only two losses were to Prospect Mountain and Somersworth, each by the score of 1-0. The Golden Eagles have a pair of home games this week, against Belmont tomorrow and Laconia on Tuesday.
Inter-Lakes (6-2) split the week losing to Moultonborough 2-0 and beating Franklin 10-1. The Lakers look to avenge last week's loss today at Moultonborough and head to Belmont on Tuesday.
The Winnisquam Bears (0-7) have dropped the last two games 5-0 in Berlin and 10-0 at Stevens. Winnisquam look for their first goal – and win – against winless Franklin today and host New found on Tuesday.
The Laconia Sachems (1-1) head out to Hanover tonight to take on the Marauders. Hanover (1-1) scored 20 points in the second half last season, only to fall short to the Sachems 26-20 in Laconia. The Sachems won their first game of the fresh season last week 58-19 over Manchester West.
Gilford is 2-0 on the season and will host Newport on Saturday. The Golden Eagles broke a 21-21 tie in the second half to beat Somersworth 40-27 last week.
Winnisquam (2-0) won the battle in the trenches against Inter-Lakes 22-6 last week. The Bears host Farmington-Nute tomorrow.
