The Aug. 13 baby celebrated her 100th birthday on Aug. 19 at the Taylor Community, complete with a proclamation by Laconia Mayor Ed Engler naming the day Freda Whittemore Day in Laconia. She was born on July 23, 1925 in Dalton, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Robinson) Caesar. Marion worked for many years as a secretary for General Electric.
