Round-up: Bulldogs, Wolfpack both have playoff games this weekend

The Laconia-Winnisquam Wolfpack will be playing its first playoff game in recent years on Saturday afternoon. The Wolfpack's 7 wins and 11 losses is good enough to for the seventh seed in the NHIAA Division III playoffs. Lac-Win will travel to Souhegan To face off against the second seeded Eagles. Souhegan won the only regular season matchup between the two teams by the score of 8-3.

Belmont-Gilford finished the year on a high note, beating Souhegan 4-2. The 15-3 Bulldog record secured a three seed in the tournament. B-G's only losses came to Berlin, twice and Souhegan earlier in the year. The Bulldogs take the ice again on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Laconia Ice Arena, when they host a Division III quarter-final match against Kennett. The Bulldogs won both regular season games against the Eagles, 6-2 and 5-2

The boys' basketball tournament started last night. Laconia ended the year four games over .500 at 11-7. The Sachems are the ninth seed and traveled to Mascoma Valley last night.

The Gilford Golden Eagles (6th seed) hosted 11th seeded Prospect Mountain last night. Gilford finished the regular season with a record of 14-4.

The seventh seeded Winnisquam Bears, also 14-4 on the year, hosted the 12th seed Farmington last night.

All of last night's matches were the first meetings of the season for the teams. All games were played after the this article's deadline.
