Bulldogs win, secure home playoff game

LACONIA — The Belmont-Gilford Bulldogs rolled to a 5-0 victory Saturday afternoon over ConVal. The Bulldogs bounced back from a 7-3 loss the previous night to Berlin. "We didn't get the bounces in Berlin," coach Jay Londer said. "We wanted to see some good puck movement today and they did just about everything I asked."

Sophomore Caleb Drouin opened up the scoring in the first period on a wrist shot that beat ConVal goalie over the glove. Drouin's goal was assisted by Jason Taylor. The second period began with goals from Dylan Treamer and Andrew D'Amour. D'Amour intercepted a pass at ConVal's blue line then split the defense and slid the puck between the legs of ConVal's goalie.

Drouin added a second goal in the third. Jamie Gill capped the scoring in the Bulldogs victory.

With the win, the Bulldogs secure a home game in the first round of the playoffs. Belmont-Gilford will end the regular season on Saturday at home against NHIAA division III leader Souhegan. The playoffs are set to begin Saturday, March 8.
