Pee Wee Lakers shut out Concord Capitals

The Lakers Pee Wee I Youth Hockey Team, sponsored by Fay's Boat Yard, hosted the Concord Capitals this Sunday at the Laconia Ice Arena. It was their last Seacoast League Game until the big tournament in March. Not three minutes into the first, Laker Cole Reid flipped the puck in the net, unassisted, to give the Lakers an early upper hand. Laker forward Trevor Gallagher passed to center Brendan Hanaway in front of the net who deeked the Capital goalie and quickly passed it to Reid for another goal five minutes into the first. Laker defenseman Will Robarge caught a shot on net from the Capitals and sent it down the ice to defenseman Nate Cammack. With his quick hands, Cammack managed to get past the opponent and put another past the Capitals goalie for a score of 3-0 with just under two minutes left of the first. Concord tried another play on the Lakers from the face-off, but defenseman Patrick Mohan quickly stopped it and sent the puck to teammate Blake Dunlap, who with 15 seconds left of the first, buried another in the net. Lakers up 4-0 going into the second. Despite all of the chances the Capitals had to bury one in the Laker net, netminder Jacob Maheux withstood every shot from. The second period started slow, with both teams back and forth with the puck. Laker defensewoman Camille Pollak stopped many Concord efforts. With just over 2 minutes left of the second, Laker Trevor Gallagher snuck through the Capital defense and skated around their forwards for a snipe into the net, unassisted. The Lakers were up 5-0 by end of the second. The Concord Capitals just couldn't get one past Laker goalie Jacob Maheux, who recorded a shut-out through three periods.
