Gilford dropped to 10-6 with a 50-44 overtime loss to Somersworth on Saturday. Gilford took a 14-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and maintained the advantage 25-20 at the half. Somersworth chipped away at the lead and cut the margin to 34-31 entering the 4th quarter. The game was tied at 41 at the end of regulation. The overtime period was all Hilltoppers as they outscored the Eagles 9-3.
For Gilford Jordan Dean and Kelsey Buckley both scored 12 points followed by Kayla Orton who added 9 points. Madison Harrison collected 7 points. For Somersworth Emily Francouer lead all scorers with 12 followed by Jordan Wall with 11 and Maddie Osbon with 10.
Somersworth now improves to 11-5 on the season. Gilford is back in action next week when they close out the regular season with Laconia on Tuesday and rival Belmont on Friday.
