White Mountain rides 1st quarter burst to win over Gilford

White Mountain went on an 8-0 run to end the first quarter with an 18-9 lead and never looked back in defeating Gilford 50-33 on Friday night. The Eagles played the Spartans nearly even in the second quarter and trailed at the break 26-17. Gilford came out in the third quarter and scored the first two baskets to cut the lead to 26-21 but would get no closer as they dropped to 9-5 on the season. For Gilford, Maddie Harris lead all scorers with 11 points followed by Kayla Orton who scored 8 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Jordan Dean added 7 points for the Eagles who are back in action on Tuesday against Farmington.
