LHS bowlers notch 2nd place finish

The Laconia High School bowlers were back on the lanes in Merrimack this weekend to face Bishop Guertin, Souhegan and Hollis-Brookline. Laconia was expecting some high scores thrown at them since all three schools use Merrimack as their home lanes. Most of Laconia struggled on the lanes in their standard games. Laconia's 11 bowlers were 7 pins below their averages from the week before. Laconia was seeded fourth and set to bowl against the first place seed, Hollis-Brookline. The team gathered their thoughts, made some changes to the line up and started their match. Laconia had moved Panthavy Pradachitch to the anchor position. Pradachitch's average going into this week match was 126.6. Pradachitch bowled 134, 165 for the team's high series 299. The lineup change and mental regroup by the team was enough to beat top seed Hollis-Brookline in three games. 141 to 123, 138 to 147 and 143 to 124. The team has had some great standard games in previous weeks but had not been able to carry that into the Baker games. Laconia was then beaten in their next two games by Bishop Guertin. That gave Bishop Guertin 1st place and Laconia 2nd. This was Laconia first 2nd place finish this year. Laconia will finish up their regular season next week and then get ready for Team Finals on Saturday February 22 at Sparetime in Manchester.
