Defense strong for LMS girls in win over Kennett

The Laconia Middle School girls' A basketball team upped its season record to 14 and 4 with a 56 to 21 home victory over Kennett on Feb. 3. Leading scorers for Laconia were Skyler Tautkus with 10, Emma Schumacher with 7, Bekka Howe and Lyndsey Drouin each with 6, and Hannah Dow with 5.
Delaney Ross and Bella Smith played tenacious defense in the front court causing numerous steals and turnovers from their opponents. Amelia Clairmont had 6 assists for the winners while Delia Cormier contributed 7 rebounds to the victory.
The girls' A team looks to continue its success this week with an away game at Alton on Tuesday and a home game against Merrimack Valley on Friday.
