3 GHS swimmers qualify for championship meet

Warren Thompson, senior, Katie Gingrich, junior and Rebecca Cook sophomore of the Gilford High Swim Team have currently qualified for The New Hampshire State Championship Swim Meet. Cook has made qualifying times in the 200 free, 100 free, 200 IM, and 100 fly. Gingrich has qualified in the 50 and 100 free with Thompson qualifying in the 100 breast, both qualifying on Sunday at the Bobcat Invitational at UNH. The team competed against over 500 swimmers at the invitational all swimming very strong. Cook placed first in the 200 free with a 1:58.10 and second in the 100 free 55.76 and 200 Individual Medley 2:17.14, 2 personal bests. Gingrich swam a 27.84 in the 50 free, and a 1:01.95 in the 100 free, a personal best for her. Thompson swam his personal best in the 100 breast at a 1:15.53 and the 50 free 27.11. Autumn Bos swam a 200 free for the first time with a 2:47.13 and 100 free at a 1:11.76, a personal best. Michael Hart swam the 200 free 2:26.76, 50 free 29.37 and the 100 back at 1:15.37 a 3 second drop from earlier this season. Chrissy Leach swam a personal best in the 50 free and the 100 breast a 3 second drop. Lisa Osborne swam the 50 and 100 free. Ayden Ernst swam the 50 free, 27.11 and 100 free 1:02.76 both personal bests. His 100 free is a 14 second drop from his first swim last year. Owen Sanborn swam all personal bests in the 50 free 28.71, 100 free and the 100 fly 1:18.06 a 4 second drop. Joseph Bonnell swam the 50 free 29.35 100 fly and 100 free. Kyle Davies swam the 50 and 100 free both personal best with a 3 second drop on the 100. The team has two more meet this week, Tuesday in Goffstown and Friday in Lebanon.
