Harris leads Gilford girls to victory

Gilford broke a 3 game losing streak and ran its record to 6-3 with a 50-33 win over Berlin. The Eagles lead from the start jumping out to 20-6 lead after the first quarter. Berlin settled down in the second quarter but Gilford still owned a 26-14 lead at the break. In the second half the Mountaineers would trim the lead to 9 halfway the third quarter but the Eagles withstood the charge and entered the final stanza leading 37-26. It was all Gilford in the fourth as they outscored Berlin 13-7 to win going away.
For Gilford Maddie Harris led all scorers with 16 points and got a double-double with 10 rebounds, she also had 4 steals and 2 blocks on the night. Jordan Dean added 11 points to go along with 7 boards and 8 steals. Cassidy Bartlett contributed with 9 points and Shannon Mercer had 8 points. Kayla Orton added 6 points to round out the scoring.
