Baer earns threee 3rd place finishes for Gilford

The Gilford High School indoor track team participated in a Division III only meet at the University of Southern Maine on Sunday afternoon.
The girls placed 4th out of 15 NH Division III schools, scoring 20 points . Freshman Marina Baer led the team with three 3rd place finishes. She had personal bests in the shot put, 29' 4" and the long jump, 13' 8 1/4" Her time in the 55m dash was 8.03 seconds . Senior Emily Wernig won the shot put event with a personal best of 32' 6 1/2" and and also placed 5th in the long jump.

Scoring for the boys was sophomore Jacob Baer, 3rd in the 55M hurdles. He also placed 8th in the Long Jump. Freshmen Anthony Eldridge and Ian McNeil had personal records in the long jump.

Marina's distance in the shot put qualified her for the state meet at Dartmouth on February 2. Joining her at the state meet will be Emily Wernig in the shot put and Jacob Baer in the 55M hurdles. These three athletes will be participating in the upcoming Qualifier meet at UNH on Saturday, January 25.
