Still room for teams to register for Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament

The Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament, to be held at Gilford High School on January 25, is looking for a few more teams to fill out its 16-team bracket.

Amy Annis lost her life to a four-year battle with breast cancer. The Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament has been established as a way to celebrate Amy's vivacious spirit, strong will, determination, and passion for life. Amy participated on four sports teams during her time at Gilford High School. She was a member of the varsity softball and basketball teams, a member of Gilford's first two volleyball state championship teams and a member of the first girls' club soccer team. The Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament is held annually at Gilford High School with 16 teams participating in both the high school and middle school gymnasiums. It is open to high school students and adults. The teams may have any number of players, but 3 males and 3 females must be on the court at all times. The net will be set at the women's height and teams will be guaranteed 3 games in pool play and 1 game in tournament play. The entry fee is $100 with all proceeds going to the Amy Annis Scholarship Fund and breast cancer research.
