LMS boys still undefeated after 7

Coming off the extended winter break, the Laconia Middle School boys' A" team was able to notch 3 victories in 3 days. First up was a rematch of the Christmas Tournament championship with Kingswood. The Sachems started quickly in this one and were able to

coast to a 49-29 victory. Center Logan Bell had a monster game with 22 points and 6 boards. Ryan McCrea chipped in 9 points and Drew Muzzey added 7 of his own. Crowd favorite Dan Engleson had 5 points and 7 big boards to help his team secure the win. Next up were the Sachems' rivals from Belmont. This one was a dog fight from the opening tip-off. Once again Bell led his team with 20 points and 12 boards. Muzzey added 14 points and backup center Ryan Paiva chipped in 6. Point guards Christian Gaspa had 5 assists with 4 steals as did small forward Noah Cruz. When the dust had settled on this one, Laconia stood on top, 58-33. Closing out the week was a game in Meredith against Inter-Lakes. Not knowing what to expect from their opponents, the Sachems stuck to the simple game plan of "feed the rock to the big men". Bell went for 16 points and 6 boards, Muzzey had 11 and 6, while Paiva had a season highs in points, 10, rebounds, 9, and steals, 4. Christian Platon added 3 steals to help anchor the defense. The Sachems ended the week 3-0 with a convincing 53-22 win. With the 3 victories the youngsters from Laconia upped their season record to 7-0 as they head into next week's 5 games in 6 day stretch.
