Police arrest man for kidnapping couple held at gunpoint near Laconia Library

LACONIA — A Laconia man has been charged with kidnapping following a report of an attempted robbery. The Laconia Police Department said they spoke with one of two alleged victims, who said while in the area of the Laconia Public Library a man had threatened her and her husband with a gun and forced them to walk to their home Wednesday.   GILFORD — Russell H. Stone Jr., 79, of Gilford passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, after a short illness. Russ was born in Medford, Massachusetts to Russell H. Stone Sr. and Virginia (Snowman) Stone. He was self-employed as a photographer, photographic equipment technician, and water softener system technician.
