GHS swim team grows to 15 members

After three snowed out meets the Gilford High School swim team finally started the competitive aspect of their season with a meet at the Upper Valley Aquatics Center last week. The team competed against 6 other teams proudly representing the high school with Rebecca Cook sophomore placing first and second in her two events, Kaitlyn Egbert rookie placed seventh and fifth, Ayden Ernst sophomore 7th and 11th with two best times from last season, Owen Sanborn placed 6th and 8th, again two best times from last season, Autumn Bos sophomore place 6th and 10th. Freshman Michael Hart, Kyle Davies, Joe Bonnell, Brendan Carkin all swam strong and fast for their first high school meet. Chrissy Leach a three year veteran placed in the top 20. The boys medley relay beat last year best time by 3 sec for a 1:12.33. The team has grown from one swimmer, Jillian Whitaker, three time National Swimmer while at Keene State, 6 years ago to 15 swimmers this year.
