Laconia High School girls' basketball used a 12-8 3rd quarter to outlast the Gilford Golden Eagles 45-39. Both teams traded baskets in the first quarter with the Eagles grabbing a 14-12 lead . The score went back in fourth in the second quarter with Laconia holding a 28-26 advantage at the break. The Sachems extended their advantage to 40-34 after three. Gilford spent most of the fourth quarter at the foul line but was unable to capitalize, shooting 6 for 19.
Leading Laconia was Cali Swormstedt with 13 points followed by Kailey Nute's 9 first half points. Natalie Compton contributed with 11 points for the winners. For Gilford Jordan Dean led all scorers with 11 points followed by Kayla Orton and Maddie Harris who both scored 8. Kelsey Buckley and Cassidy Bartlett added 5 apiece and Shannon Mercer also added 2 points.
