LHS bowlers getting used to synthetic lanes in Merrimack

The Laconia Sachems traveled to Merrimack this past Saturday to bowl against Bishop Guertin and Pinkerton at Merrimack Ten Pin. Laconia is really having to work for their pins since the lanes at other bowling centers are a lot different than the lanes they practice on. Lanes at Funspot are wood lanes and majority of other houses have synthetic lanes. With wood lanes, the bowling ball will grip and react to the lanes more then on a synthetic lane. Synthetic Lanes are more like rolling the ball on ice. The team has had to get used to throwing the ball the same way but not expect the same reaction on the lanes. Laconia earned another point towards the team standings for their third place finish. High series for the day goes to Aaron Smith who bowled 182 and 161 for a 343 series and averaged 171.5 for the day. Other high games were Nathan Batchelder with 160 and Panthavy Pradachitch with a 155. Laconia hopes to build some consistency by learning from these experiences, especially as the team plans to head back down to Merrimack Ten Pin on Saturday to take on Merrimack, Raymond and Sandown.
