The Inter-Lakes girls' basketball team plans to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation on January 15 when they take on Moultonborough Academy. The fundraiser is in honor of former Inter-Lakes elementary student, Cameron Coulstring, who lost her battle to bone cancer in 2012. The Lakers will hold a raffle with prizes donated from businesses in the Lakes Region community.
The Lakers (0-6), looking for their first win Wednesday night fell to Laconia 75-35. The Sachems (3-3) head to Gilford tonight in an attempt to string together back to back wins. The Golden Eagles dropped their first game of the season on Tuesday night to Newfound (7-0). Gilford hosted Winnisquam on Wednesday night for their second game in as many days and quickly returned to the win column with a 40-32 victory. Winnisquam will host Franklin (2-4) tonight.
Tuesday's matchups are Gilford at Winnisquam and Laconia at Plymouth.
Laconia improved to 4-1 on the young season with back to back wins on consecutive nights. Tuesday was a 54-46 win over Franklin (1-2) and Wed. brought a victory against I-L (0-4). The Sachems will host Gilford tonight and 4-0 Plymouth on Tuesday night. Gilford defeated Winnisquam on Wednesday by the score of 61-42. Winnisquam will travel to Belmont on Monday and host Gilford on Tuesday.
Tonight will also see Somersworth at Belmont and Franklin at Winnisquam.
Belmont-Gilford remained perfect on the season with a 3-0 win over Laconia-Winnisquam on Saturday night and a midweek victory over 1-1-1 John Stark. On Saturday the Bulldogs travel to Conval. Wednesday they will be back at home to host Portsmouth.
The Laconia-Winnisquam Wolfpack fell to 1-2 with the loss to Bulldogs. The Wolfpack will be home for the week hosting John Stark on Saturday and Berlin on Wednesday.
Moultonborough-Inter-Lakes recorded the team's first win of the season Saturday night, beating Kearsarge 3-2. The Renegades travel all week, heading to Manchester West on Saturday and Kennett on Wednesday.
