I-L volleyball improves to 8-3

The Inter-Lakes High School varsity volleyball team improved to 8-3 in NHIAA Division III standings with a straight set victory over Hillsboro-Deering on Friday night in Meredith. Set scores were 25-11, 25-13, 25-11. Senior captain Jordan Donohue hit .645 with 22 kills while adding seven service points and three blocks in what coach Randy Mattson called, "an all-around exceptional performance." Fellow senior captain Lydia Swedberg served 96 percent with 22 points including four aces to lead all scorers. Hayley Roth registered 34 assists and eight points and Jenny Pelczar led the defense with eight digs. Jessica Schofield knocked down five kills and two blocks and freshman middle hitter Amanda Kurowski recorded five service points and one ace.
