LMS girls' A team wins two in a row

The Laconia Middle School girls' A basketball team earned two wins last week.Playing on January 31, Laconia beat Moultonborough Academy by the score of 40 to 18. Amelia Clairmont and Cheyanne Zappala each scored six points, Helen Tautkus and Rylee Littlefield scored four points apiece. Coach Chick Tautkus said his team displayed "balanced scoring and aggressive team defense" in the win.
The LMS girls' A team picked up a 47-14 win the following day against Inter-Lakes. Leading scorers in this game were Cierra LaGarde and Jara Kirk with eight points each, Zappala scored six and Delia Cormier scored five. Tautkus said Allyssa Miner, Clairmont and Abby Crowell helped their team with strong reounding, and "Bella Smith played a strong floor game, dishing out several key assists."
The LMS girls' A team plays at home today against Alton, on Thursday at Gilford and Friday at Merrimack Valley.
