Published DateGilford High School girls' basketball team jumped out to an early lead and coasted to its eighth win of the season by besting Farmington 48-28 on January 25. The Eagles entered the contest tied in the standings with the Tigers. Gilford took a 12-10 lead after the first quarter and expanded it to 22-13 at the half. Gilford came out of the break and turned up the defensive intensity, causing a dozen turnovers it the 3rd quarter while outscoring Farmington 17-3 to take a commanding 37-16 lead into the final quarter. Both teams would match baskets in the fourth for the final 48-28 margin.
Ten players scored for Gilford, led by Molly Dietrich who scored 10 points and also had seven steals and six assists. Cassidy Bartlett chipped in with nine points followed by Abigail Harris with seven points and eight rebounds. For Farmington Mckenzie Lloyd had six points.
