Thanks to Post 49, I can accompany dad on trip of a lifetime

  • Published in Letters

To The Daily Sun,

I would like to publicly thank Joe Newton, commandant, and members of Tilton's American Legion, Post 49, for making it possible for me to accompany my father to Washington, D.C., with Honor Flight. Honor Flight is an organization devoted to providing airfare for as many surviving World War II veterans as possible to view the Veterans Memorial.

My dad, 87-year-old Donald A. Bickford, is a 60-plus year member of Post 49 and, as his daughter, I am excited and proud to be able to accompany him on this once-in-a-lifetime trip. The trip will take place on Father's Day in June.

The generosity of Post 49 has made this possible.
