To The Daily Sun,
It doesn't have to be Thanksgiving or any other holiday of the year, but we are particularly thankful at this time for the Laconia Fire Department and the other towns that were involved in fighting the fire on Feb. 25 at 64-70 Davis Place.
It means a lot to us that we could depend on the quick and knowledgeable thinking of Fire Chief Kenneth Erickson and his crew to be organized and brave during a horrific blaze.
Thank you to Kevin Pierce who suffered second-degree burns trying to save Paul Blakely, a longtime special tenant.
Our praise and thanks goes out to everyone involved, from the police, firefighters and all who tried to save the life of Paul and to get all the tenants out safely. The heroic actions of all will not be forgotten. It continues to remind us to have faith in others.
The support of the city is immeasurable and needs to be praised, as well as all the people who are helping us cope with the tragedy. The Laconia Fire Department has proven to be the best in the state. God willing you won't need them, but in any case, you can depend on them.
We are fortunate to have the support of many family and friends and the community. The caring and loving thoughts will not go unnoticed. Thank you for making this experience more bearable.
