Embezzlement of county funds took place on Boothby's watch

  • Published in Letters

To The Daily Sun,

Former County Commissioner Christopher Boothby held the office from 1998 until 2010 and now is a candidate for the Executive Council of the State of New Hampshire.

It is undeniable that embezzlement of Belknap County funds took place over a period of several years prior to 2008, years in which Boothby was in charge. The embezzlement was only discovered during the 2008 annual budget process resulting in the 2008 scandal and the incarceration of the county administrator.

As a county commissioner, Mr. Boothby held fiduciary responsibly and supervision over the administering Belknap County property tax dollars for more than two decades. I for one do not want a go along to get along member of the Executive Council who has a track record of not fulfilling a fiduciary responsibility.

Please vote for Joe Kenney as the peoples representative on the Executive Council.
