Christopher Boothby is best candidate to fill Ray Burton's shoes

  • Published in Letters

To The Daily Sun,

Tuesday, voters of Governor's Council District One will try to fill Ray Burton's shoes, a daunting task. I have made up my mind for whom I will vote and would like to share some thoughts with you. I first met Chris Boothby early one Memorial Day. American Legion Post 33 in Meredith traditionally conducts a small parade through town with a brief ceremony to remember those fellow citizens who bravely served our country and now lie silent in their graves. As we Veterans formed to march I was joined by an individual whom I didn't recognize. We exchanged names and that was my introduction to Chris. Although not a veteran himself he felt an inner urging to honor those who answered the call to arms.

Since then I have acquainted myself with much of Chris's background including his service as an intern for Ray. I discovered that we share a concern about the many issues currently facing citizens of New Hampshire. I have concluded that Chris is the best candidate to fill Ray Burton's shoes and therefore will cast my ballot for him Tuesday.
