Peter G. Burleigh, 73

ALTON — Peter Gregg Burleigh, loving father, educator, and adventurer, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on October 30th, 2013 at the age of 73. He was the third son of the late Joseph and Alice (Taggart) Burleigh. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Harry and is survived by his son, Evan Burleigh of Braintree, Mass. and his brother, Hugh Burleigh of Tulsa, Okla. Peter was born on March 19, 1940 and grew up in Franklin, N.H. going to Franklin High School and graduated from UNH in 1962. He went on to continue his education in 1990 at Columbia University where he received a Masters in Educational Administration. He became an educator right after graduating from UNH and worked at numerous schools until he ended up teaching at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Mass. for 21 years and then spent the next 12 teaching at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury. He retired in 2006 to his home in Alton, N.H. on Lake Winnipesaukee where he lived happily three seasons of the year while spending summers at his campsite in Connecticut. In the last year he learned to ski again on a new hip, upgraded his campsite, and improved his home in Alton. Peter had many passions, including sailing, skiing, photography, and especially learning and teaching. He touched many lives, and will be sorely missed, but forever remembered. Burial Service Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Webster Place Cemetery in Franklin, N.H. Aaliyah A. Wilson

FRANKLIN — Aaliyah Ann Wilson was born on March 27, 2014 to parents David and Christine (Araujo) Wilson of Franklin, N.H. and passed away peacefully on June 9, 2014 with her parents by her side. Aaliyah was greeted at Heaven's gates by her grandmother Susan J. Alves. In her 10 weeks of life Aaliyah touched so many hearts and will be missed by so many. Besides her parents Aaliyah leaves behind her brother and sister David and Sophia Wilson who absolutely adored her. She also leaves her grandparents, Lauri Cannon of Venice, Fla. and Miguel Araujo of Cranston R.I., her uncle Mike Araujo of New Bedford Mass., her great-grandparents Elaine Wilson of Cranston R.I., Marion Cannon of Massachusetts and Miguel and Bertha Araujo of Rhode Island. Aaliyah leaves behind many other extended family members and her "Hannaford family".

Assisting with arrangements is the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, of Tilton, N.H. No services are planned and a private burial will be held at a later date.

Donny Smith, 26

ROCHESTER — Donny Smith, 26, of Rochester, died Sunday, June 8. He was born in Laconia, the son of Jennie Rollins Smith and the late Mike Smith and his step-father, Jim Gagne, of Rochester; two brothers, Travis Gagne, of Rochester, and Mike Smith, of Rochester; and by girlfriend Kaitlin Lirette and daughters, Natalie Smith and Nautica Beaulieu, of Rochester.

Donny enjoyed cars, music, friends, and family time at the park with his daughters. He adored his mother and will be very missed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 13, at the Leavitt Park Clubhouse, Laconia, at 7 p.m. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Smith Memorial Fund at gofundme.com.

Barbara F. Carye, 90

GILFORD — Barbara F. (Convery) Carye, 90, of Boston, Mass. and Gilford, N.H. died at her home on June 11, 2014. 

Barbara was born to the late Edward and Margaret Convery on January 10, 1924. She grew up in Maplewood Square, Malden, Mass. and graduated from Malden High School. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII and afterwards worked at the State House in Boston. Barbara lead a full and healthy life.
Barbara leaves her beloved husband of 67 years, Raymond A. Carye, and her loving children, Katrina Carye, Edward Carye and Barbara
Hausman, and grandchildren, Meghan, Amanda, and Olivia Carye, Mark and Jared Hausman.

Burial services will be private and a memorial service held at a later date.
