Frederick E. LeMien, Sr., 88

MOULTONBOROUGH — Frederick Edward LeMien, Sr., 88, of 12 Birch Lane, Moultonborough, NH died March 9th, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.

Fred was born in New Rochelle, NY on Nov. 15th 1925 son of Fredrick E. and Dorothy LeMien. He grew up in New Rochelle and graduated from Isaac E. Young High School, in New Rochelle, class of 1943.

Fred served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He came home and married the love of his life, Eileen Hamilton on Oct. 16th, 1948. They shared 59 happy years together raising a large family.

They owned and operated the Pearl Street Garage in Pearl River, N.Y. They moved to Moultonborough in 1969 where they owned and operated the Lake Shore Motel until 1980. He was also involved in real estate. He retired in 1998.

Fred is predeceased by his parents, wife, Eileen and Sister Dorothy Rose.

Fred is survived by his son Frederick LeMien and his wife Denise of Belmont, son Richard LeMien of Moultonborough, son Donald and his wife Cynthia of Moultonborough, son Gerald of Center Harbor, daughter Elizabeth Logel of Banner Elk, N.C., and daughter Marie Bolduc and her husband Glen of Laconia, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and several nieces.

There will be a private burial for the family in the spring.

Georgine Y. 'Gigi' Donovan, 50

MEREDITH — Georgine (Gigi) Yvette Donovan, 50, of Laconia went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2014. She was born in Boston Massachusetts on July 4th, 1963 to Gerald and the late Maxine Nephew. She graduated in 1980 from North Reading High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Arts from New England School of Art and Design in 1984. She married the late John Joseph Donovan on November 25, 1989.

She is survived by her children Amelia, Veronica and David, her granddaughter Dakota and her four sisters Maxine, Laura, Celine, and Nicole.

She loved her children, trusted Jesus, and especially cherished her granddaughter. She lived in the moment, valued simplicity, and brightened any room she entered.

A service will be held Saturday March 15 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meredith. The ceremony will be headed by Rev. Stephen R. Neill, Pastor.

Martha S. Hanson, 70

GILFORD — Martha Sylvia (Fredriksen) Hanson passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. With the birthdate of 3/3/44, she had just celebrated her 70th birthday. Martha was the daughter of the late Karl and Sylvia Fredriksen of Roslindale, Mass. Preferring the country to the city, Martha moved to Hanson, Mass. after she married her husband Cliff on May 10, 1970 where they lived for twenty years until they moved to Lake Shore Park on Lake Winnipesaukee in Gilford, N.H. She also treasured her winters in Florida at Rainbow Resort in Frostproof.

Martha graduated from Roslindale High School in 1961, and then went on to graduate from Boston Business School with high honors. She was an excellent stenographer and accomplished at shorthand. For many years she worked as a Medical Secretary at Brockton Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department. Martha also enjoyed working alongside her husband at Walt Disney World in Florida for several years. She was the Recreation Director for 17 years and a former member of the Board of Directors at her beloved Lake Shore Park. She was also actively involved as a member of the Viking Club in Braintree and was formerly a member of The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and The Debonnaires Drum and Bugle Corps. Martha also sang in the church choir at The Lutheran Church of the Cross in Hanover, Mass. She was very talented and had many hobbies including gardening, arts and crafts, and painting. She was also an avid reader. Following her father's advice, Martha always immersed herself fully in any and every activity or organization in which she was involved.

Family was very important to Martha and Martha was very important to her family. She leaves behind her devoted husband Clifford D. Hanson, her loving children Edward D. Hanson and his wife Megan, Peter G. Hanson of Gilford, as well as her loving grandchildren Justin, David, and Rachel. Much loved sister of Karl O. Fredriksen of Foxboro, Mass., Erik J. Fredriksen and his wife Marilyn of Derry, Vendla O. Margeson and her husband Ernest of Wareham, Mass., Linnea O. Richardson and her husband Craig of Wrentham, Mass. and Karin I. Sullivan and her husband Brian of Hingham, Mass. Martha is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews. In addition, she leaves the many caring friends she made during her life. Martha was a special person and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham, Mass. on Friday evening, March 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043.

Sandra J. Sapier, 68

ASHLAND — Sandra J. Sapier, 68 of 7 White Mountain Court, Ashland, NH, surrounded by her family, passed peacefully on March 11, 2014.
Sandi was born in Plymouth, N.H., on September 18, 1945, the daughter of the late Cedric and Lena Hickey. She was predeceased by her brother, Ken Hickey of Kingman, Ariz. and leaves behind her sister and friend Joanne Slade of Laconia, N.H.
Sandi was the mother of six children, whom she considered her most valuable treasures.
Sandi was predeceased by her two oldest sons, Robert R. Dinger of Jupiter, Fla. and Darren S. Dinger of Manhattan, Kan.
Her family includes her daughter-in-laws, Robin Dinger of Lady Lake, Fla. and Tammy Dinger of San Antonio,Tex. Her son, Jeffrey M. Dinger of Thornton, N.H. and his wife Terri, her daughter, Pamela J. Plummer of New Hampton, N.H. and her husband David, her daughter, Rona L. Sapier of Laconia, N.H., her daughter , Jennifer M. Dillof Laconia, N.H. and her husband Rob. Sandi was always so proud to share that she had 17 grandchildren, Jessie, Debra, Dannise, Joshua, Jeffrey, Kayla, Madison, Michael, Charissa, Amber, Matthew, Dimitri, Despina, Stefan, Nickolas, Sammi, Jason, and Kaylee. She also beamed when mentioning her 7 great-grandchildren, Layla, Keegan, Maddie, Chloe, Ashton, Shea and Kaiden. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great friends.
Sandi worked as an LNA for many years and took great pride in caring for the elderly. All of her life, she enjoyed arts and crafts, especially jewelry making and scrapbooking.
Sandi held a deep passion for animals throughout her life. Whether it be the horses she boarded on her farm as a young woman or the cats and dogs that pranced through her homes throughout her life, or even the pet skunk she raised as a teenager.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Avenue, Ashland, NH. A celebration of her life will be held in the Ashland Baptist Church, Main St., Ashland, on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. Spring burial will be held at a later date in the Green Grove Cemetery in Ashland, NH.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Sandi's memory to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, N.H. 03247.
