FRANKLIN — Marguerite "Peggy" Martell, 80, of Franklin, died peacefully at Concord Hospital on July 29, 2014.
Peggy was born in Wolfeboro on June 15, 1934, the daughter of Albert and Pearl (Ricker) Verrill. She was raised in Tilton and graduated from Tilton-Northfield High School in 1953. She formerly resided in Salisbury before moving to Franklin several years ago.
Several years ago, Peggy was employed at the former New Hampshire Highway Hotel in Concord. She was last employed by the state Department of Health and Human Services for 20 years, until retiring. Following retirement, Peggy worked at Deroys Market in Tilton.
She is the widow of Paul R. Martell.
Peggy enjoyed flower gardening, collecting clowns, and was an avid reader.
Family members include her children, Bruce W. Martell and his wife Virginia of Campton, Rhonda King and husband Brian of Boscawen, and Rodney F. Martell of Lakeport; three stepchildren, Cathy Braley and husband Peter of Goffstown, Sandy O'Shaughnessy and husband Tim of Manchester, and Paul Martell and wife Brenda of Bedford; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Blocker of Northfield, Elsie Sanborn of Keene, and Alice Berry of Laconia; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, John Verrill in 1948 and George E. Verrill in 1998.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 from 2-5:00 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A graveside service will be held Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Salisbury.

GILFORD – Emile Belanger, 87, of 1424 Lake Shore Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014, at Laconia Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on July 8, 1927, in Laconia, the son of Paul P. and Rose (Picard) Belanger.
He is survived by his sister, Yvonne Chamberlain of Laconia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Louise (Covey) Belanger; his two brothers, Leo Belanger and Eddie Belanger; his sister, Dolly Haskell; and a nephew, Mark A. Chamberlain.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be private.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Clifford Jones Jr., 81, of Boynton Beach, passed away June 16, 2014.
Clifford was a University of Virginia graduate, with a master's degree in business from the University of New Hampshire, and a degree in government from Harvard University. He was the managing partner of Legendary Publishing, Palm Beach, Fla., and a Korean War veteran.
Clifford lived in the Lakes Region area from 1970 to 1987. He was a managing founder of great landmarks such as Brickyard Mountain Inn & Resort, Old Mill Properties, and Mame's Restaurant. Clifford was also on the Board of Trustees for New Hampton School, and instrumental in the founding of Lakes Region Mental Health Association, and president of Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.
Clifford was the beloved husband of Patrice (Moore) Jones; former husband of Mary Anne Dailey Jones; loving father of Clifford III, Julia and Gregory Jones; devoted grandfather to Christopher, Alex, Claire, Connor, and Sophie Jones.
A celebration of his life will be held at Quail Ridge Country Club at a later date.

GILFORD — Robert "Bob" L. Smythe, 87, of 79 Wild Acres Road, formerly of Thornton, died Friday, July 25, 2014 in his home after a long illness.
He was born on October 27, 1926 in Lynn, Mass., the son of Joseph and Louise (Shillington) Smythe. Bob was a commercial airline pilot for Delta Airlines for over 30 years.
He is survived by one son, Robert E. Smythe of Rochester, N.H., two daughters, Lesley Smythe of Ipswich, Mas.s and Lindsey Hyslip of Billerica, Mass., 5 grandchildren, Scott Leonard of Gilford, N.H., Matthew Grande of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Justin Grande of Londonderry, N.H., Erica Grande of Northfield, N.H., Haylee Hyslip of Billerica, Mass., and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn (O'Sullivan) Smythe in 1994.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
