NEW HAMPTON — Eugene Morgan, 67, died Wednesday, July 20, 2014.
He was born born January 1947 in Plymouth, to John and Kathryn Morgan. He grew up with two sisters, Ginne and Elaine, and a brother, John.
He was drafted into the Vietnam War in 1966, and served in the Army and in the Australian Royal Army for two years prior to being wounded and subsequently discharged from service.
Upon returning home, he met and married Linda Mack of Portsmouth in 1969.
They bought Wallis Brook Farm in 1969. Eugene started producing maple syrup shortly after moving in, and also later started a woodlot management business.
They lost one child shortly after birth in 1974, and had a daughter Jessica, in 1978.
In addition to his wife and daughter, Eugene is survived by a foster daughter, Denise Downing and son-in-law, Peter; and grandchildren, Peter and Jordan Downing; his sister, Ginne Saulnier, her children, Ted and Darla; his brother, John and sister-in-law, Marion, and their children, Angela and Marion; his brother-in-law; Melvin Defosses (predeceased by his sister, Elaine Defosses), and their children, Dale, Cheryl, and Shawn. He is also survived by the children of his wife's late brother, Greg Mack: Pat, Terry, Rachel and Ben; and his wife's brother, David Mack and sister-in-law, Cindy, and their children; Kathie and Kevin.
Informal graveside services and celebration of his life will be held on, Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at 2 p.m., at the family home at 178 Cross Road, New Hampton.
The Mayhew Funeral Homes and Meredith Bay Crematorium are assisting the family with arrangements.
