LACONIA — Elaine B. Catelotti, 92, formerly of Naples, Fla., and Westbrook, Conn., passed away peacefully on July 25, 2014, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia.
Elaine was born in Hanover on Dec. 21, 1921, the daughter of Vern and Grace (Cope) Badger. After graduating from Springfield Technical High School, she worked several years as a telephone operator for New England Telephone in Springfield, Mass., and volunteered many years at
Marlborough Hospital. She lived in Agawam, Mass., until 1970 and then in Marlborough, Mass., until retiring to Naples and Westbrook in 1985.
Elaine was a very caring and generous person who loved her family and friends. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality. Elaine loved to talk, laugh, and tell stories. She never missed an opportunity to "get up and dance." She enjoyed cooking, reading, deep-sea fishing, gardening, traveling, and skiing.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen and wife Shirley of Gilford, William and wife Diane of Hubbardston, Mass., and Vincent Jr. and wife Lynne of East Greenbush, N.Y.; and a daughter, Nancy Meehan and husband William of Vernon, Conn. She also leaves nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Vincent J. Catelotti; a son, John, a sister, Barbara Hickey, and her stepfather, Alex Palinckx.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 823 Main St., Agawam, Mass., with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Springfield, Mass.
