LACONIA — Carll Knapp Tracy, age 86, of Laconia, NH passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Born in St. Petersburg, Fla. on February 18, 1928, the son of Crete(Carll) and Leighton Goodwin Tracy, Carll grew-up in Pelham Manor, N.Y. He attended Pelham High School and graduated from Dartmouth College ('49) and the Tuck School of Business ('50). Carll remained actively involved with Dartmouth and had been the secretary of his class for many years.
Carll had a fulfilling and successful career as a financial executive for several international corporations including Gulf Oil, H.H. Robertson, Erie Forge and Steel (formerly National Forge), and the WPP Group (formerly Ted Bates Advertising). A resident of Lakes Region for over 45 years, Carll was an avid skier and tennis player. In the summers, he loved cruising his much-loved Lake Winnipesauke with friends and family. Married for over 65 years, he is survived by his wife Barbara (Gleason); his sister Gloria Cassaboon; his six children: Lynde Ryan, Scott Tracy, Gayle Ashtiani, Jon Tracy, Brett Tracy and Jill T. d'Arbeloff; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In memory of Carll, a celebration of his life is planned for family and friends on Saturday, July 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home of Lynde (Tracy) and Kevin Ryan, 280 Woodlands Road, Alton Bay, N.H.
