VERO BEACH, Fla. — Robert "Bob" deMontigny, 79, of Vero Beach, Fla. passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 after a year long struggle with cancer.
He was born in Springfield, Mass. and spent his youth in Longmeadow, Mass., and has been a resident of Vero Beach since 2001, coming from New Hampshire. Prior to retirement he was a restaurant consultant and owner in N.H. Bob has been a real estate broker in Florida since 2002 and recently worked at Dale Sorensen Real Estate, INC. along with his partner and wife Debbie. He was a private pilot and loved skiing and sailing, having done extensive sailing off the east coast and the Caribbean. He was a member of the Shriner at Bektash Temple, Concord, N.H. and an Honorary Member of Kiwanis Club of Laconia, N.H.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Deborah D. deMontigny; one brother Bill (Shirley) deMontigny of Vero Beach, Fla. and Connecticut; daughters, Katherine (John) DeSantis of Massachusetts, Roberta (Pete) of Massachusetts, Mary (Marc) Gaudet of New Hampshire; stepsons, Christopher (Melissa) of Calif. and Michael Nadeau of N.H.; grandchildren, Ethan Ballin, Megan (Howard) Schatzberg, Laura and Kyle Gaudet, Ben and Casey Rutledge and Ella Nadeau; great-granddaughter Jacqueline.
A celebration of life service was held on Wednesday, April, 23, 2014 in Florida.
