Mercedes V. Bunce, 88

MOULTONBOROUGH — Mercedes V. Bunce, 88, passed away peacefully at Summit Place Nursing Home, in Little River, South Carolina, on February 13, 2014.

Born on March 6, 1925, in Huntington, N.Y., she was the daughter of Esbon J. and Charlotte A. (Maurer) Tucker.

She was a 30 year resident of Moultonborough and loved to listen to the loons on the pond. She loved nature and enjoyed reading. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing for her family.

Mercedes was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Elwood M. Bunce in 2005.

She survived by her brother, William B. Tucker, and her daughters, Barbara Anne Bunce-Rosier and Donna P Hansen. She is also survived by her dear son-in-law, Hendrik E. Rosier, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Mayhew Funeral Home, (Routes 3 & 104), Meredith. Rev. Carol Asher, pastor of the Center Harbor Congregational Church will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Holland Hill Cemetery, Moultonborough, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Heifer International, an organization that supplies animals for villages around the world.
