John R. O'Shea, 85

LACONIA — John R. O'Shea, 85, of 19 Peter Court, died at his home on Monday, January 13, 2014.
John was born October 5, 1928 in Hanover, the son of the late Arthur D. and Christina (Pllu) O'Shea. He was a longtime resident of Laconia and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and also served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
John had been employed at Bergen-Paterson for twenty-eight years before retiring in 1983. He loved the quality time he spent with his wife and found great comfort in doing projects around the house. They enjoyed venturing down back roads along the countryside and taking drives along the coast. He loved to build stone walls with the rocks that they would find on the many traveled roads that they took. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow.
Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Jacqueline R. (Theberge) O'Shea, of Laconia; four daughters, Tina Cullen and her boyfriend, Michael Blanchard, of Laconia, Doris Fugere of Laconia, Carol Drouin and her husband, Wayne, of Belmont, Donna Leighton and her husband, Alan, of Laconia ; eight grandchildren, Matt Cullen, Craig Cullen, Tom Drouin, Lisa Drouin, Matt Cullen, Craig Cullen, Chris Leighton, Randy Leighton, Shawn Leighton and Jennifer Smith and fourteen great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.
Burial, with military honors, will be held at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.
