MEREDITH, MOULTONBOROUGH — Rudolph John Laporte Jr., 78, of Meredith, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Meredith Bay Colony Club with his loving wife by his side, after a lengthy illness.
Born on October 27, 1935, in Holyoke, MA, the son of Rudolph J. and Rose (Lynch) Laporte, Rudy was raised in Holyoke and graduated from the South Hadley High School. Upon graduation he attended college earning some credits before entering the U.S. Army. After his service, he enrolled at UMASS Amherst and received a bachelor's degree in Business Accounting.
Rudy started his career at RCA before becoming the President of Mutual Data Inc., in Boston, and worked as an Information Technology Executive at the Hartford Insurance Co in Hartford CT.
A long-time resident of Moultonborough, NH on Lake Kanasatka, Rudy was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed all sports, was an avid golfer, and he loved photography and videography. He was always making home movies of special family events, and had a collection of every Polaroid camera ever released. He will be dearly missed by his family, and the many friends whose lives he had touched throughout the years.
Rudy is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Florence (Boyden) Laporte, of Meredith; daughters, Katherine Barnes and husband Barry Constant, of Seattle, WA, Ann Laporte and husband Tony Scotto, of Boston, MA; granddaughter, Ashley Woodford and husband W. J. Woodford III, of Marlborough, MA.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Meredith Bay Colony Club in the Library, at 10 a.m. Rev. John Eaton will officiate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
