Gilford police break up loud party

GILFORD — Fourteen people were arrested Saturday night by local police after a complaint of a loud party near Cottonwood Trail at about 6:25 p.m.Thirteen individuals, ranging in age from 18 to 20 years old, were charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. One 20-year-old was also charged with facilitating a drug or underage alcohol house party. Jean Newcomb, 84 MEREDITH — Jean Newcomb, 84, formerly from Lexington, Massachusetts, and currently a resident of Meredith and Englewood, Florida, died peacefully on Friday, July 22. She was born Dec. 3, 1931, in Needham, Massachusetts, where she graduated as valedictorian of her high school class in 1949. She was the youngest daughter of the Alice and Albert Woodward.
