Temporary buoy marks rock hazard near Governor's Island

LACONIA —  A temporary black-topped buoy has been put in place by the New Hampshire Marine Patrol to warn boaters of a potential underwater hazard in the channel between Eagle Island and Governor's Island in Gilford. The marker, located a short distance west from light buoy #2, marks a rock 8 feet below the surface, which was located by a survey crew from Winnipesaukee Flagship Corporation which was checking the area due to recent low water... Ponsart 76, of Cherry Valley Road, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Concord Hospital, surrounded by the ones she loved.Barbara was born Jan. 9, 1940, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, daughter to the late Frederick C. and Elizabeth (McEwen) Johnson.
