CORRECTION: Model train display built by Larry Hubbard, phot…

A caption accompanying a photo in Tuesday's edition contained inaccurate information regarding the creator of a model train display. Larry Hubbard built the model train that was displayed at the Laconia Passenger Station during its 125th Anniversary celebration on Aug. 19.    Also, a caption in the Saturday paper for a historic photo of the passenger stations was misdated. Since vehicles from 1948 and 1953 are pictured, the scene has to have been 1953 or later. Read more

The day of the solar eclipse was a busy day for the Family Birthplace of Lakes Region General Hospital. Little Oliver here, with his parents, Raven Foss and Joshua Ritson, was one of three babies born Aug. 21, 2017, the day of the first total solar eclipse since 1979.
