Fugitive sex offender arrested in Laconia

LACONIA — Fugitive sex offender Arthur "AJ" Liesner, 31, was arrested Thursday without incident at the home of a relative on Gilford Avenue in Laconia by deputies from the Belknap County Sheriff's Department.Liesner was wanted on a warrant issued by Belknap County Superior Court for his failure to appear the previous day, Wendesday, April 27, for a hearing. GEORGES MILLS — Robert E. Wherland, 86, died peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on April 27, 2016. His health had been on the decline in recent years due to dementia.
