Main man charged with failing to stop after two-car crash in Belmont Village

BELMONT — A Maine man is charged with one count of operating after suspension and a violation for failing to stop at a stop sign after he was involved in a two-car crash at the intersection of Main Street and Route 140.
Belmont Police said Francios Moretto, no age given, of Carrabasset Valley, Maine was headed west on Gilmanton Road or Route 140 when he collided with a northbound car being driven on Main Street by Jonas Sanborn, no age given, of Canterbury.
Police said both were transported to Lakes Region General Hospital for treatment of what police described as minor injuries.
Moretto was given a court date of August 29 to appear in the 4th Circuit Court, Laconia Division for the operating after suspension charge.
