Published DateLACONIA — High School Assistant Principal Dave Levesque has been named principal of Pleasant Street School.
A statement released by the School District on Tuesday evening described Levesque as a "strong leader who has enormous energy and shares our vision to support outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for students".
Levesque replaces Kathleen De'Haene, who resigned last month after three years at the post. She is returning to Moultonborough Central School to serve as principal.
Laconia Superintendent Terri Forsten said Levesque, "has demonstrated leadership skills in our school community as our high school assistant principal and through his work on school and district level committees. He has been at the forefront for bringing PBIS (positive behavior intervention systems) to our high school. His areas of strength are seen in his energy and leadership as part of district initiatives such as professional learning communities, safety processes and bullying procedures."
Levesque attended Plymouth State University for his undergraduate and graduate study programs. As he transitioned from the LHS guidance department to administration, Forsten said it was noted that his "work is very valued by his colleagues".
Levesque said he is eager to begin connecting with the staff, students and parents in our Pleasant Street School community this summer.
Levesque has a daughter, Jordan, who will be entering fifth grade at Inter-Lakes Elementary School in Meredith this fall.
