American Legion Post’s ‘Pitching for a Cure’ to benefit Making Strides

LACONIA — Wilkins-Smith Post #1 American Legion will host a Pitching for a Cure horseshoe tournament at the post home on Sunday, August 24 to help raise money for the 14 Years and Counting team which will be donated at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event which will be held this Fall.

Sheila LaBrie captain of 14 Years and Counting, encourages people to take part in the tournament. She is the coach of the Laconia High School bowling team which rolls its home matches at Funspot.

Sign up will start at 9 am and the round robin tournament starts at 10 am. It's $15 per person and partners will be drawn. Concessions will be available and all money raised (outside of the prize fund) goes straight to Making Strides.
