Altrusa of Laconia supports local literacy & community organizations

LACONIA — Supporting and promoting literacy is a major focus of Altrusa International. Striving to improve the quality of life for others in the local community is the objective of Altrusa of Laconia.

Altrusa of Laconia recently distributed support checks to the Belmont, Laconia and Gilford Public Libraries, Laconia Adult Education and a new initiative for GOT LUNCH AND LITERACY in Laconia through cooperation with Annie's Book Stop.

Other local organizations receiving support checks from Altrusa of Laconia include: Hands Across the Table, New Beginnings, Boys and Girls Club of the Lakes Region, Belknap County Nursing Home, and the Greater Lakes Child Advocacy Center.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, all Altrusa of Laconia monies are raised through various fundraising activities and donations, and then redistributed back into the community in the form of scholarships, contributions, and projects that meet the mission of Altrusa.
